Default color change

Hi everyone,

I just recently bought a silver RCT evo from Ruf Autocentre Dallas, some of you most likely have seen it before other might not (pic are still available online at ruf's webiste).

Either way, I need everyone's help on what is suppose to be a personal thing, I DO NOT LIKE SILVER! in fact I allready replaced the 18" wheels on the car with "period" correct Ruf Speedline in 18". I now need to decide on exterior color. Keep in mind it will not be a car I would be using frequently.

Choices are:

1. Rubystone red .
2. Mint Green
3. Rubystone Red Metalic
other...?

would love riviera/turquoise blue, except a good friend of mine has a turbo 3.6 in turquoise and it would seem I copied him.

Thanks for everyone's input.

The perfect color is a very personal thing. I would go with the color you like the most, ignoring what others have.

Maritime Blue
GT3RS Orange
Nogaro Blue (Audi Color)
I also like a non-metallic, single stage gray color, like the one in the 9ff line.

Flat black by using vinyl wrap. That way, you can change colours if you really don't like it and still keep the original silver intact.

Default 2 things- well maybe 3

first off- the car looks great.

2nd- I'm not a huge fan of silver so I could see it painted any other color- the Rubystone is a sharp color

3rd- they hire a great photog for the images on their inventory site. He/she really knows how to capture a car for selling purposes. I'd buy a car just from the pictures alone- they are sexy sexy. (well okay maybe not just on pictures. )

The green could be killer- either signal or mint.

David,

Just some thoughts:

1. You bought the car because it was a RUF, not because it was a particular color, and certainly NOT because your friend has a "cool" something-or-other color on their Porsche;
2. You have potentially purchased a car that will increase in value over time, but one thing is for damn sure, if silver is the original color of the chassis, you will most likely lose money, in the long run, if you change the color without going "full monty";
3. Just my humble opinion here, but f*#k what everyone else has, and enjoy what YOU like and what YOU want - life's too short, brother...

Adios,

Dave

I am a big fan of silver, but I also love the "jelly bean" colours as well...

Personally I would leave it as is but if I was going to have it resprayed I would have RUF do it and have them change the ID plate on the car so it reflected the new colour of the car. That way you have the "manufacturer" of the car acknowledging that the work was done to factory standards. Anything less will diminish the overall provenance of the car which could be reflected it the later selling price of a car with such an awsome pedigree.

If your thinking of Green, how about "Forest green Metallic". That's the color of my car,and not seen very often.
