Default Error Code 24 - Oxygen Sensor

Hi
I have purchased a Durametric diagnostic tool and I have observed several error codes, but one of concern.
This was Error Code 24 - Oxygen sensor short to ground- Motronic.
I wents ahead and purchased a new Oxy sensor (OEM) for $100 and installed it. What a surprize when I retested the car and received the same error code again.
Any suggestions from anyone? Where is my problem?
Thanks
Don S

Hi DIS. Code 24 is seen if the o2 sensor is disconnected too so it may be worth checking the continuity of the wiring back to the DME. There are also examples of cars that have had a jumper setting applied to a connector near the DME to bypass o2 so check that too.

Mine has the jumper setting, but I do not get that fault code with Durametric.
