Default Happy Friday

Well, got a Porsche run tomorrow with about 15 cars; mea leading the whole bunch. We're doing a fall run to a great breakfast spot about an hrs drive from our starting point. Ran it last night to make sure there were no closed roads, etc. Should be fairly mild, but there are some spots we could hit higher speeds if we care to

Got a family shoot Sunday afternoon, and i think we're over at friends tomorrow night, so just the fun run for the Porsche activities. What about you?

Nothing Porsche related this week...

But I did get to attend this:

I will take some time during this weekend to detail the 964. Needs some TLC in the cleaning area.

Crap weather here, going to replace the door switches to hopefully get to the bottom of that pesky battery drain problem!

I'm looking forward to some down time. I've been on the go on the weekends for the past month. If I feel up to it, I will work on the cabrio's alternator. One of the bolts on the alternator pulley stripped as I was reinstalling to replace a failed fan bearing. Its never easy is it?

Meanwhile, I need to ensure I have gas for the snow blower. We received our first snow of the season. This also means I need to start planning on putting the 964's into hibernation and start driving the winter-mobile.

Nothing Porsche related here. I did bring the TT to work today since we have big rains on the way and it needs washing Darn I hate owning a black car
Tomorrow I need to go out and bush hog my property and cut up some firewood for our freezing Florida winter. Its finlly going to be under 90 degrees for the next few days.

Took the Whale Tail off last week for a proper painting and finishing. Will resaaemble it and reinstall this weekend. First I'll add an auxilliary set of hood shocks to compensate for the added weight.

Crappy weather like Jonnygo1 stated! Our club is DEing @ NJMSP (the new track in Jersey), and I hear they are mounting chains and studded tires to run in the "black ice"! Yes, actually shut down some roads in Philly this morning!

No P-car for me this week either. The old one's gone the new one's not here yet...

Prolly watch the Yankee games and spend time with the family. There was a Harvest Fest we were supposed to go to but it got rained/snowed out. So now I don't have a big list of things to do this weekend. I'd love to catch up on some sleep and maybe watch a couple of movies as well

Still working on the Packard. Making progress, but the wedding is one week away. I spent the full day Sunday, refitting the radiator shutters and shell. LOTS of bad words were said about the Packard design, and while I was at it, called anyone I could think of that I had ever disliked in my past an equally bad name. (none of you came up in the conversation with myself, however.) The braking system is functioning again, although I haven't driven it yet. Got a start on the wiring for the lights, ordered some parts for the missing tail light sockets, .... I have to get it out on the road this weekend to test it out, before the 60 mile drive to the wedding next weekend. No pressure (from the mother of the groom) here.

I need to spend a little time on the C4. I really enjoy the nearly instant heat in the morning (especially since the temps have been down into the 30's recently), but now my heat is staying ON all the way to work. No response from the little **** on the CCU (although the rear fan goes on/off as it "should"). Some searching this AM on this forum and I have some things to check - primarily Servos 2 and 4. The left underside of my dash, including the key switch, etc. is blistering hot. The CCU system had been working Great - set the temp and forget it.

Darrell - Look under the dash to see if you have a broken or loose heater hose in the drivers footwell. If the servos were failing you wouldn't have heat near the key switch. My bet is you have a broken or loose hose.

I bought Adrian Streather's 996 book (amazing amount of info in it - makes the 964 one look like a quick read!), and bought Durametric which has been great fun to play with.

Weather is supposed to be good over the weekend, so there are two Porsche things I want to do. I'm going to have a second attempt at getting some mesh attached to the turbo front bumper - even after just a month, I am tired of pulling leaves out of the rads. I want to check the fan operation anyway because I'm not convinced they're working properly on one side.

I also plan to put some miles on the 964 and I'm very much looking forward to it!

^Good find!

Tonight is a surprise birthday party. Shhh do not tell anyone.

The weather is not looking good this weekend. I might go out and do some trail running and get good and muddy.
