Default normal?

So I drove the car maybe 10-20 minutes then got out. about two hours later started her up and just had a puff of light color smoke. is this normal?

Had it rebuilt maybe 12000 miles ago. Goes away right away and never see again. Only happens once in a while. My mechanic says it is normal, but just checking

Over time are you using more than a quart per 1000 miles? That's my rule of thumb for oil consumption at nearly 200K miles...

I am probably over concerned for no reason. Jsut want confirmation that this is normal.
seems to be after a shorter trip and really only like every 10th drive..
hopefully someone will say for sure. I also don't seem to burn any oil at all.
motor is rebuilt and seems to be light color smoke and just for a second. Like a puff then done

Maybe the first signs of premature valve guide wear or seal leakage. What did the rebuild entail? If the pistons/rings/cylinders were not addressed at the time of the rebuild there may be oil sneaking passed the rings and getting into the combustion chamber causing the smoke you're witnessing. Even if they were renewed piston rings have been known to break or seize. Only way to confirm, is to perform a leakdown/compression test on the cylinders. How many miles in total on the vehicle? Pull the plugs first to check for wetness in order to determine which cylinder(s) are getting fauled. Any chance it is an oil overfill? That may cause it and would be the least expensive to fix involving draining some oil off from the engine crankcase drain plug.

Hope this helps

I hope nothing serious. motor was completely rebuilt just two years ago and only 11k miles ago. car has 50k miles total on the car.
also what color mean what is smoke?
And is it better to burn oil initially or gas?

"also what color mean what is smoke?" If the cloud lingers and is blue - oil, if it's white and dissapates quickly - condensation in the exhaust predominately after the car has been sitting for an extended period of time allowing water to collect in the exhaust. "And is it better to burn oil initially or gas?" Engines are designed to burn gas not oil. Oil, depending how much is being burnt lowers the octane of the fuel combustion, fouls plugs and in turn lowers the engine's performance.

Darth I think is just condensation. is whiter smoke and almost goes away in one puff then done. The reason why I think is condensation is I started the car backed up and washed it. sat for a few hours then drove 15 minutes. let sit for maybe an hour then started her up and a quick puff.

Probably never got hot to burn the water off.
