amp in this position is not an issue, and perhaps trunk install preferable-weight in the front. yes there is a frame member that was drilled/amp was attached. this position maximized trunk space and permitted retention of the spare (weight in the front!!....crash protection), and while new amps generate less heat - there is more cooling here for large amp install.
