Help finding a set of 964 cup1 magnesium rims?
Front: 7.5x17'' ET55 part# 96536212810
Rear : 9x17'' ET55 part# 96536212415
I hope I am not being rude. I tried to post on the wanted section but could not figure out how to do so.
I have an early build 1991 Audi Coupe Quattro. Completely stripping the car down and replacing all oem bits with RS2/Porsche items. The standard rim on the RS2 Avant was 17x7.5'' cup1 rims. Many of you may or may not know the car but it is the base of my project only I am using the 2 door Coupe to build from. I'll post a pic here hopefully it works.

AFAIK, the standard rims on the RS2 we not Magnesium. You should be able to pick some standard alloy ones up fairly easily though. I think they were the rims off of a 968 - the brakes too.

Yes mate. The RS2 cups were aluminum. Many of the RS2 parts are shared by the 993tt and 968 you are right. Cool that you know this!
I am after the mags for the weight savings and rarity. Will allow my project to stand out just a little bit without losing the OEM standard look. 7.5 wide front and 9 wide rear will give me the stance I am after.
I think I found a set in Germany but just waiting for the reply.

The Wanted area is for members, and if you want to reach out to the Rennlist community to help you find a set then it's proper to join as a paid member. 968 mirrors for the RS2. And many who own the magnesium wheels keep them in the garage and run regular aluminum Cup 1's-over time the magnesium wheels are recommended to be crack checked eatch year.

rs2,
I have a set of the mag. cup wheels that I ran for awhile as street wheels (and are currently stored away for future use). With respect, I would echo the sentiments above to consider what you are getting into; these wheels take a fair bit more care than just about anything else you could run (if you want to keep them in good shape).
For example, little things like rock chips can't simply be ignored, since the magnesium alloy corrodes in air, and just the simple act of taking the wheels on and off of the car can cause damage to the paint in the lug sockets, so you need to use something like an aluminum-based anti-seize to protect the pockets, the mounting face of the wheel, etc...
They ARE light , and it's awesome to have the pedigree, I'm just offering some insight based on experience. FWIW, I've been considering trying to find some aluminum cups so I don't have to worry...
FWIW, you might try contacting Harvey Weidman at Weidman's Wheels in California (I don't have his number handy, but you can Google him), to see if he has a line on a set.
Good luck,
Dave

Thanks for the insightful responses Dave and Damian. I would be happy to join on as a paying member. Will take a look at how to pay tonight and make a contribution.
I'd enjoy a set of these rims and for the price they command I'll probably only wear them for shows. I have more than a few sets of rims to play with otherwise.
Dave, cheers for the heads up. I shall give Weidman's Wheels a call tomorrow afternoon. I am based in Seattle btw.

rs2 -
Damn good looking car, by the way. I had a B5 S4, and spent a sh*t load on it having fun, tweaking the engine, etc. I would have sold someone's grandmother to get an RS4 at the time.
I miss that car, but something had to go in order to get the 964...
Take care,
Dave

Cheers for the compliment Dave. I've had a few hits on the mag rims so far just a slow process finding the right set and the right price at the moment. I love my quattro.. The RS4 and S4 are nice machines. Will make a project thread once all my parts is collected.
Porsche Fan I've replied to your email with those pics.

So guys I made a call to my Porsche dealer and this is what I've found. The rears are still available to purchase new at $1306.11 a piece. The fronts came up NLA. I think this is the route I'll go and buy them new at Porsche. I think the price is good compared to used being offered to me currently. I'll just keep my eyes peeled for front rims.
Look forward to sharing this project with you guys.
