Falken tires
Looking for tires for track days. I know that Sport Cups are the some of the best out there, but my budget saddly will not allow that to come to light.....so.....I know that some porsche teams on the ALMS race them (Falken tires that is), but has anyone had any-luck with them or have heard anything about them.
I saw that they had a race tire, but they don't make them in the size I am looking for. The tires I have been researching are the FK-452's.
Tire sizes are:
front: 205/50R17 (going on 7x17 ET55 porsche wheels)
Rear: 255/40R17 (going on 9x17 ET55 porsche wheels)

....just installed on recommendations of my "tire guy" who has done his last 3 porsche & a ferrari in falkans.
a performance tire that does not advertise (ie decent tire on a budget).

I have Falken 452's on the rear of my C4 at the moment and will change the fronts to Falkens when they are due.
Done an airfield day (DE) and the tyres performed really well, 5 sessions of about 20 mins each and there were no signs of wear, etc. The fronts did look a bit scuffed on the edges but they are Toyo's so maybe they are a little softer.
Falken 452's get good reviews over here, if you can get around the snobbery of some those who think the wholly grail of N rated tyres are the only ones that should be on a Porsche....

Great, that is what I like to hear!!!! Thank you for all of your opinions. The Falkens look like the way to go for those of us who are on a budget and are lucky enough to have one of these amazing cars in our stables!!
