Default Slate Grey 964 3.8 FOR SALE- help me price it

The spec 996 racer is on track though not quite finished (is it ever ).

Anyway its become obvious that after much labour (and expense) the 964 will not be driven much if at all anymore. It is totally finished and runs very strong. An ideal dual street/ DE car for someone.

Here are the highlights of the car- what do you think ballpark I should be looking for ( I know, I know; less than book) ?

1990 Slate Grey C2 (California car orig.- now in Atlanta)

Major Mods:

Motor-
3.8 Kinetic/Graham Everett total rebuild ( circa 280whp, <5 hours)
(JE Pistons, Carrillo rods, ARP bolts, Smart bearings, Ti springs/retainers, knifed/drilled crank etc. etc.).
Fabspeed headers
Custom dual Burns mufflers
Aux. oil cooler
RSR engine carrier
RSR trans mount
Wevo engine mounts (blue)
Hargett valve covers
Steve Wong custom mapping

Suspension-
JIC Comps,
993 TT + 965 brakes (+ bias valve)
Pagid Yellows
urethane bushings
3 sets of wheels:
CCW wheels with Toyo RA-1s
Hoosier R6s on Porsche reps
New Hoosier rains on TT's
+ new set Sumitomo HTR Z IIIs

Other-
Corbeau seats and 5 pt belts
DAS rollbar
RAID steering wheel
battery cutoff
fire extinguisher
Coolshirt ready
HID lights

TIA

Absolutely beautiful car with great mods. I will give you $15k for it. Deal? Seriously I would start at $40-45k, but the market for these cars is weak right now.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the rough cost of the motor?

A sale is desirable- not forced or absolutely necessary.
High 20's? No.
$40-45k prob not. Somewhere in between- but thats a pretty big delta.
The market will decide I suppose- unless the Gov't steps in with some large stimulus dollars.

Throw it on ebay with reserve and watch what the market will bear. I would guess not much more than 20K Sad but true regardless of mods. People just don't seem to want to spend unless its a very desirable collectors model in perfect condition.

Track cars seem to be suffering big time these days.

Just keep it !

Thats a nice properly setup DE car with a lot of goodies. I would say if you were patient high 20's to low 30's.

It sounds like a very well sorted out car. The only problem I see with it if someone would buy it for club racing is the 3.8L motor. Can't use it in a stock class. Otherwise it's an excellent example of no expense spared well developed 964.

I wouldn't entertain any offers below the mid-30's. If you don't have to sell it right away, list it in that range and you will find the right buyer for it sooner or later. Also, the end of Summer is usually not the best time to be selling one of these since the season is on its way out. Unless the buyer is down South. Good luck!

Thanks all. I'm not terribly motivated to sell the car- I still love to drive it if only occasionally. Its just that I'm an avid recycler and would like to put the sale proceeds into the new car. Just doing my part.

No good shots of the interior but its grey RS lightweight with grey rollbar. The seats shown were in my other 964- which I sold a couple of months ago (for $28k btw)- but are in this car now. Note Coolbox is now in trunk with second seat for mainly students in its place.

Keen eyes will spot a wideband O2 sensor display which was disconnected as the car ran better on the stock narrow band.

The car was until recently a daily driver and can go either way- back to more street oriented or onward to full on track car. Or do both comfortably.
I have stock seats, rear seats and exhaust.

Cheers.

You have leather dash and leather center console!!!

A switch to a black RS carpet set, new e-brake handle, a set of leather Recaro Pole Positions, a Competition Momo steering wheel... It would make an awesome DD/DE car!!

I want to wish you good luck on the sale... but deep down I hope you end up keeping it.
