mods decided upon, thanks to forum
after reviewing old postings, new inputs and other reviews have decided on minor mods as follows:
1)audio system (i like all enjoys exhaust note, but for roadtrips the fuzzy sound from the speakers & failed cd player plus lack of ipod dock....just not adequate).
am going with new alpine head unit, full complement of boston speakers (and replacement of the 2 tweeters), and will have all rewired through a new alpine pdx4.100 digital amplifier.....we re - created the system at audio installers and it was great, all in price (including estimated 7hrs labor ) was less than i expected.
have decided to have the amp mounted in the trunk....likely spare tire area
and perhaps in spare tire cavity (will run without a spare as i did with my last car - carry a can of sealant-compressed air & back up bicycle pump, all in will have a weight saving gain)
2)cup pipe-primary delete....bit of weight & minor power adder i suppose, mostly for the exhaust sound.
3)drilled aluminum pedal covers and deadpedal cover....only for appearance - minimize further carpet wear.
thanks forum, gerry

Thanks for posting and let me know how that stereo system sounds! I have the exact same perspective on the stereo. I never use it in town and on my morning weekend drives, but it would be nice for longer trips and when in traffic.
I also have my car in for upgrades. Cat delete and a cup primary bypass, bilstein PSS 10s, and a new set of Michilen PS 2s.

Make sure you review the spare tire = crash protection posts.
Which pedals/style are you getting?

+1. You are, of course, entitled to take informed risks, but you have a duty to protect your passengers. On resale you have an obligation to restore the factory-engineered safety features.
Take the spare out on the track or on solo drives, but converting that space to other uses makes it semi-permanent.

yes they have done older porsches, and they had no difficulty accessing all details and info-specs re stock install.
i like you was a little worried also - so for that reason decided to leave factory amp in tact and leave all existing wiring in tact (also in event it has to be returned to bonestock)....new system will be fully , independently wired and speakers controlled via new amp....long install however.

Hello,
Your mods sound great. For looks, though, I really think that front clear lenses to replace the amber look great, and would suit the colour of you car better than amber, IMO.
But--LOVE your car.
(I was in Maple Bay yesterday!)
