Default Cargo Volume/Rear Space

Hi, everybody

Sorry, if this has been covered, but I've done multiple searches with different key words, but couldn't find the answer to my question >_<

I was wondering what the cargo volume of the both the trunk and the rear space (with rear seats down) are.

Some examples of what can fit inside the car would be awesome

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the quick reply

Is that for the trunk space or the space in the rear with the seats down?

That '12' is behind the front seats.

(crap! -- I thought more would chime in guesstimates. Mine's just looking-up-at-the-clouds-while-taking-a-break-at-work mental imaging.)

In the front trunk? hmmmm.... [reviewing clouds, again]

... ah... 6+ cu. ft.! (2 x 2 x 1.5)...

FWIW... These numbers would be unchanged (give or take) for the 30+ years of the air-cooled-engined chassis.

I've heard the introduction of the C4 resulted in reduction of the trunk/front space - not sure if this applies just to the C4 or the C2 as well.

Wink

yeah -- those C4 guys have it rough in the Front Trunk Dept...

(They'll never know the cavernous immensity of a C2's front trunk.
Currently, on days not driven, I'm leasing out my C2's excess trunk space to a family of seven.)

I am lucky to get a shoe box in the trunk of my 996TT
My 964 is great. I have hauled a lot of 8' lumber and such in the car with the top down

You can fit a roll bar behind the seats, and a shock tower brace in the front!

Cab or coupe? remember in a cab using the rear with the roof down allows for all kinds of creative hauling..!

The C4 does have limited space due to the differential and braking equipment... less than the C2 even.

Remember though. With these cars, your luggage always arrives first.

1 girlfriend, 2 sixty lb dogs, a 3' diameter plant pot, ~300lb of bricks, and a driver.

Good thing I have the ultra powerful C4 brakes.

Can I fit a 115lb Ridgeback in the back w/ the seats down?

Wife goes in the right seat.

I of course will occupy the best seat (the one w/ the wheel).
