Default 92 usa cup

sorry for asking I just noticed the recent thread on the topic. looks like most people in the thread think the cars should be just over 100k and recent asking prices of 150 are way too high...thanks

Of course, it depends on the car. I would think somewhere n the $80s. The last car that went through an auction sold for around $100K, but it had 500 miles on the odometer. I think Seinfeld had his sold for about the same price. I would think that car would have sold for a premium because someone could say it was Jerry Seinfeld's car. In both cases, if you back out the 15% auction fees, you are back in the $80s.

Sellers can ask whatever they want. I wouldn't take much of the other thread too seriously.

I would think $80-90k range sounds right for someone that actually wants to sell their cup. That would put it roughly in line with a euro RS.

A couple of years ago these were going for 65-80K, up to the meltdown they were going for 80-105K, today who knows.

I was approached by a local enthusiast this past December about possibly selling my car. To try to determine my asking price, I did some digging and was able to determine that two transactions in the fall had been for 85 and 89. Both were race cars. As I recall, one of the two cars had sold quickly to the first person that looked at it. My cars is an unmolested Andial car with 30k miles, and my asking price was 97 and the enthusiast told me that he had 75 in mind. Needless to say, the car did not sell.

Bruce is right on. That's the range they were selling for late last year. Since then the economy has sure not improved. Another thing ... those prices apply to really clean/straight/meticulously maintained 964 US cups. It is worth remembering that there are "doggy" cars out there that would not be worth anywhere near the money Bruce mentioned. Just my opinion.

If it helps Bruce i think your right on at the 30K mile mark (mine is there too) right now, in 6 months hopefully more, but it depends on the market (stocks as well as cars). 75K is too low to generate any intrest in private sellers.
