RS transmission mount part # question

Default RS transmission mount part # question
I ordered an RS tranny mount for my '90 C4 manual tranny and got part number 964 375 055 80. I found that it is about 15mm larger in diameter than my stock on. My stock mount carrier has the part number 964 375 323 01. Do I need a new carrier and if so, anyone know the part number off hand? Thanks!

RS & C2 transmount are totally different from C4 mounts

RS & C2 are interchangeable

RS/C2 & C4 are not

OK after all this, did we ever find out if there is a stiffer tranny mount for the C4?
