Default porsche color codes?

How can I tell the color of a porsche from just the VIN? I am considering a car and what to validate the color - the plate in the fender is not there due to an accident repair.

Did you look under the trunk lid and in the owner's manual?

the dealer can tell you by the vin, but why do you need the code? are you worried about a diffrerent color after the repair or such? I mean white is white and blue is blue, right?

Thanks gang - The car was repaired and is a very unusual dark blue/green color. Very striking and I would like to find out the actual color.

Post a pic and the year of the car. If it is a Paint to Sample car, code 9999 it may be a little difficult.

Here is the car: I don't have it yet so I cannot take any better pics. I should own it some time next week:

The color is a dark green/blue with tan leather interior. He thought it was called rainforest green?

I think that it may be amazon green (pearl) non-water based (47024), or murano green (46457).

it does look more like Amazon Green. Its too rich for Adventurine Green. And no such color as 'rainforest green' unless he got that from another brand of car.
