is it feasible to convert a tiptronic to a manual
Am new to this forum. Live in Malaysia and purchased a 964 C2 tiptronic recently. In Malaysia most 964s and 993s are tiptronic, so finding good manuals is very tough. Am sure it would be a hideously expensive exercise, but just wondering if anyone has tried this conversion. Other than the physical cost of gearbox, clutch, etc, I would assume the electronics would be a major challenge. There are some great reasonably priced Porsche specialists here so labour shouldnt be the major challenge... any thoughts or help greatly appreciated..

PWengland,
Welcome to Rennlist, another one from Malaysia. I too saw that most of the 964 C2's were Tips and opted for a C4 instead. There were a few manual 911SC's on the market when I was looking. But they did not look all that well maintained.
It is physically possible to do the comversion but if you search the forum on this topic it has been discouraged due to the effort and expense involved.
Labor costs are not an issue here but expertise certainly is. I've had my car to number of local shops and really only feel comfortable with one so far.
Hope you got a good one and post a picture or two.
