I went to this year's Parade concourse and took pictures of all the 964's there.
Those to come later.
Here's a candid I took and didn't realize the capture at the time.
It was just a long distance snapshot of a girl walking past an old cab driven by an old cab driver, (who, no doubt, was waiting for his cab driver wife...)
Anyway, those old bathtubs sure bring out the smile in just about everyone.
Where's Waldo?

I had fun at the parade, just got home. The Judges beat me to a pulp though. Good grif 4 points off for my tail lights being faded. I told them they are only 1.5 years old and live in the garage 90% of Their life so far. Try to find a stock 964 tail light that doesn't have a pink tint to it THEY COME THAT WAY !
I also got a huge ding for scratches on my spare tire compressor pump and some factory carpet glue showing under the factory mats. Good grief it came from the factory that way ! They told me my car was clean but had some signs of wear.
Concours is fun but those judges seemed a bit off to me, Oh well I couldn't have won any way due to the fact that I trailered the car to the event. PCA hates trailers and awards giant bonus points for mileage driven to the event. Basically if you don't drive over 1000 miles to the show you probably will not win your class. Preparation class that is.
I don't think I am going back to Colorado for a PCA event any time soon. Wasn't very impressed with the host.
I was suprised how many 964's were there, good showing !
The GT 1 was my show favorite.

Pete, Preparation is a tough class. Just entering it tells me you have a very nice car. Don't let this one dampen further attempts. With the milage and attention to detail your car has enjoyed, you will be well rewarded.

keep it original and enter it in Preservation. Cars that win Preparation are usually better than when delivered by the factory. In San Diego I judged the then new GT3RS's. The first three were absolutely spotless underneath (I had front chassis). I thought they came that way from the factory, until I got to the fourth one and it had cosmoline, dirt, etc. Preparation was incredible on the first three. Must've taken months just for the front end.

I don't have a problem with the class, but my tail lights are almost brand new and they blasted me for them being faded.
This moments after they told me how impressed they were with their condition knowing 964's tail lamps are prone to early deterioration.
They told me my car is too new for Preservation class.
Might go restoration class to avoid the lame mileage bonus.

We put ours in Preparation last year and came to the conclusion noted by Manny. The dings we recieved were well justified; lint in the seats, scratched wheel, oxidation on one of the tools and dust in the whale tail. We finished fourth in the class. The first three were absoulutely incredible. The first place car was local, so no milage "credit".
Afterwards, one of the judges advised me that the cosmelean on the fan and bottom of the case detracted from the car and should be cleaned off and the fan buffed for appearance.
I liken this class to AACA where the cars are better than "as delivered". Our decision is to continue in the class until it ages out so we can enter it in Preservation. And yes, I'm leaving the cosmelean just where Porsche put it.

In 2003, I entered my racecar into the concours. Did it just for the fun of it. Think I got the lowest score out of all the entrants. I remember the exterior judge didn't know how to judge all the chips on the bumper and front spoiler. I told him I should get at least one point for having a bumper and splitter to begin with. It was fun because I got a great parking spot (on the concours field) and got to meet alot of folks. Might enter my street C2 with 125K miles in the 2010 Concours.....
