I did ask about his experience on taking out the engine and installing the clutch, etc. I just wanted to learn what that is like with our cars when the time comes (hopefully in many many years/miles). I took the 951 down to bolts, but never have done anything that involved with the 911.... I have the SC to practice. Running fine, but I want to remove it to clean all of it and leave it out to get the paint shop to spray the engine bay as well.
Anyway, was great to see him. We need to plan the cookout at the Fire Station.

showed my winter mobile i little love and replace the master cylinder and replace the fluid. still had time to take a blast down the Taconic State Parkway in the 964

Jaime, you are welcome for the hose, glad I could help. I'm glad I got a couple extra feet when I replaced mine. It was a nice ride out to your house. Jimq, I tried to talk Jaime into powder coating, but hopefully he won't have to disassemble his 964 anytime soon. Here is some eye candy for now...

For those who want to replace the orange heater ducting, it takes two feet of hose. Aircraft Spruce Company has 3" tubing called Sceet tubing, it is better than stock, more durable (made for aircraft) and less expensive than OEM. I've used it for years on aircraft. Works perfectly, costs about $12/ft. (Don't get the Scat tubing, it is not lined on the inside.)

Thanks Hawk, I really enjoyed doing it. JimQ and I did his fan shroud last month. You should have seen me try to explain to my wife why I had an oven in the workshop......

Powder Coating valve covers
Dfinnegan, I cleaned them, beadblasted them, then baked them in the oven at about 375 for 20 minutes to get the impurities out. I then wiped them down with acetone and powdercoated them. It went on great and the powdercoat actually smoothed the surfaces.
PS. I powder coated the insides as well as the outsides. Fortunately, my only corrosion was a bit on the flat outside surfaces and around a few of the plug wire openings. All oil sealing surfaces were perfect.
