Default Guards red re-spray finally complete!

After 6 months of stress I've finally got her back on the road. It was harder and more expensive than I had planned. It included guards, bonnet, boot, bumpers, spoilers and shocks off, windows and lights out etc, just to get at it. Under the guards was painted prior to the exterior, then put back together with mostly new parts (rubbers, seals, nuts, bolts and washers). I have kept it all original, even have the radio/cassette going back in. Interior leather was recovered in all original with the porsche logo embossed in headrest. The engine has had a complete rebuilt and is also standard. Just got some minor things to finish now. yes door seal trim is one of them.
Cheers Scott

Congrats! And well done.

Those last two pics are a tough transition for my pea-brain: From Beauty to The Beast.

Very nice. It is like a brand new car, but better than any new cars I have seen lately. Should be great fun just in time for summe… winter.

Love it! It looks like a new car.

I've been contemplating respraying my cabrio but hesitate about it. I am new to the area and don't know of a good paint shop that I would trust for such a big job.

Now that's going to be expensive. The respray looks great, though.

Rocket Rob:

Ever consider Ayers in Gardiner Maine for a respray? They have the right gear and experience. It might be on the high side price wise, but the quality of what they do is very nice. I have no affiliaton just an appreciation of what they do as I have some limited work done there.

Mark,

Thanks for the tip. I'll keep this shop in mind. I'm in the middle of building a deck off the back of the house, so it will have to wait, while my checking account recovers.

Slick. Go ahead and scratch it now. Get it over with so you won't have to worry about it.
