Default Brake fluid leak.........

Good morning, I drove my car a bit yesterday and when I parked it back in the garage there was a splattering of ATE blue under the driver location?? Any ideas before I start taking the bottom plastic off?

"Under the driver location"....

You don't mean just behind the front left wheel, do you?

That is where the overflow drain from the brake fluid tank leads. Check the tank is not overfilled and, if so, just suck some fluid out (I used a turkey baster).

You might also check the floor of the front boot for fluid.

If the pressure sensor on the hydraulic pump fails it leaks into the boot and then finds holes in the floor pan to drip out of.

If this is the case, then you really have to be careful as you'll loose your brakes entirely if not remedied.

Hydraulic pressure switch replacement thread from when this happened to me.

Of course, your problem may be a simple overflow spill, as Marc has suggested. That would be better!

Cheers,
Dave

How full is your brake fluid reservoir? Could it be a simple overflow?

Glad to hear it was something simple. Not all problems are.

Rob: "jynx, owe me a coke!"

Did they say that we you were a kid and two people said the same thing at the same time? Been a long, long time since I've heard that. Just popped into my head when I saw your post after my submit. When did I get so old? Of course, it's better than the alternative, and my toys are much nicer now!

Dave - Did they say that when I was a kid? Yes. I haven't heard it in a long time, too. Maybe we are both getting older. :-( Yes, the toys are much nicer than when we were kids.

Glad to hear you are going to Limerock too. I will be nice to meet you (and Ilko) in person. It seems like we already know each other. My dilemma is, do I drive the cab or the new C2? I'm leaning towards taking the "new" car.

That's an excellent problem you have there! I've often wished I had another so that my projects didn't all have to be completed by Monday morning.

Looking forward to the Lime Rock event. It'll be great to meet you. Are you planning on driving all the way to Mahwah for the fun-run or will we meet you up at Lime Rock?

At this point, I plan on meeting with you at Mahwah, unless something prevents me. The downside is I will need to leave my house at 4:00am (can you say caffeine?) to get there by 8:30am.

Back from drive............this is my favorite Porsche= a perfect blend of technology and classis looks!
Thanks for your help! I had nightmares about what this might have been. The extraction was going well as I had nice new clear tube so I still do not know what ATE blue tastes like! My only mistake was using my hockey stick to prop up the hood. I use it to play ball with my dog and when he saw it went ape**** and knocked my clever siphoning operation on it's *** and fluid was spilled? I should get off my *** and replace hood shocks but I can still see the scars on my knuckles from doing this on my 993.
