As noted in another post, there was a plan to make carbon fiber oil tubes with bonded titanium ends. Unfortunately, however, thanks to Porsche engineering and Geoffrey's testing to confirm, the outside temperature of the four tubes could reach in excess of 300 C (572 F) and while we have a carbon ceramic material that can take a constant 600 C (1112 F) and titanium can withstand this temperature, the highest temperature adhesive will have issues above 205 C (401 F) and the potential therefore of cataclysmic failure would loom. In short, the tubes will be machined titanium and, as with the original proposal, will have the collateral benefit of eliminating the slight flow impediment caused by the crush method of creating the flange on either end of the original equipment part.
