nice is it a satin finish, i cant quite tell.
I'm also guessing judging by other items on this car, the paint has a proportion of antimatter, dilithium crystals and powdered flux capacitor...

BTW, i just realised, that reads quite sarcastic. I apologise if taken that way...
I truly am in awe of the work, the car and in no way did i intend and offence.... just in case you had taken some.

None taken. And, indeed, in doing this type of work one must have a sense of humor. P.S. If someone told me it took hundreds of hours to paint a set of wheels I would wonder too. But, if you saw them in person, it might be understandable. P.P.S. The real fun is going to be in mounting the tires so as not to ruin hundreds of hours of work!

Are these going to be in an 18" Robert? If I recall the GS had 3 piece BBS Motorsport Wheels but it's a safe bet to say that these look to be considerably lighter.

Actually, over time the America GS has had several sets of wheels for test - all of which were 18" and all of which were supplied by BBS. The initial sets were multiple piece aluminum and aluminum/magnesium and the final set is one piece forged magnesium. In fact, thanks to Erich Gissler, long term Manager of BBS Motorsport and Engineering in Germany, and John Slagle, his counterpart in America, a custom forging for the America GS was designed by BBS and, in turn, produced in Japan by Washibeam, BBS's supplier of forgings. Finally, the titanium color paint (to match many of the titanium components of the car) was created and applied (after much preparation) by Junior Conway of Junior's House of Color, Bell Gardens, California, in my opinion, the finest car painter in the world.

PorscheCarrera964, to quote an actor playing an artist (and I am neither nor, for that matter, am I much good at anything), 'When it is finished'!
P.S. In the redalm of wheels, attached is a picture of the classic BBS RS Wheel on my old Turbo.

As always, amazing work Robert. I, like others, very much look forward to the grand unveiling of the finished project.
Re. the picture, I read with interest about your special wishes 930 in Adrian's book. Do you still own it?
Cheers,
Tim.

But better are the people with whom I have been privileged to work and from whom I have been honored to learn -- from Singer (Norbert) to Springer (Alwin) to Sprenger (Rolf) to Kussmaul (Roland) to Breuer (Hans-Georg) to Barnard (John) to Bruck (Werner) to Kristin (Hartmut) to Tait (John) to O'Mara (Roy) to Moore (Adrian) to Schauerte (Oliver) and almost 100 others (including Gissler and Slagle named above -- and, to go on their wheels, the Joines family, owners of Tire Rack, who have so kindly helped with tires for years) who have worked on this project. And the best is what has been and continues to be learned that has gone into a variety of uses from racing to series production to non civilian applications and that, together, may have been and, I hope, will be of some help.

It's a long story, too long for here, but that is the original stereo installed at the factory which included a CD player, a DAT player and a CD changer (Alpine 7909, Alpine 5700 and Alpine 5959, in their day, great equipment).
