Default Sad day <<sniff>>

Watched my silver C2 drive away to a new home today and it never looked or sounded better <<sigh>>. Oh well, gotta keep moving forward.

At least I still have the grey 3.8, but that silver car was a gem; 144k miles and with no issues. I'll miss the twice weekly 40 min (+140mph) country drives but I'm spending less time here now so they were becoming fewer and farther between.

I have a new project to focus on now as well; 996 spec racer.

Few last shots:

Loosing a car is never a good day. Glad you are staying in the 964 family with the other.

That is a nice looking car. Someone got lucky. Someday I hope to upgrade to a silver 964... THAT is the best color...

My vote is for Grey 3.8's, stick with it, but I@m biased

At least the C2 went for valid reasons, rather than being forced, and building a recer sounds fun....

Can I ask where you obtained the RS ducts w/ fog lamp combo from ?

Good luck with the project !
Must have been Shaw but between the two cars I can't keep track what I got from where- pretty sure it was MAS.

Around here people are always saying "if you ever sell your car . . ." blah blah blah and you know they aren't serious. A few weeks ago a guy did and I knew he was at least semi-serious. Turns out he was and I got a little more than I paid for it 2 years ago.

That will not be the case with the 3.8 when/if I sell it.

I suppose sale is better than the alternative ways to lose a 964, still it is always a sad day.

It is indeed sad as a seller , but as the buyer a few years ago I benefitted from probably around £20,000 that the PO had spent and would never recoup

I have the answer though, never sell it

That is a good way never to realise a loss; never sell. On the other hand a loss taken that is offset partially or completely by a gain is sometimes worth considering. Have you seen GT3 prices?!

That didn't come out quite right- restated, I'd be tempted to sell even at a loss given current GT3 pricing.

I know and I'm not looking or being tempted

Only just starting to really learn the capability of my 964 on the circuit (and mine!), but a GT3 still appeals... nnnooooooooooooooooooo!

Don't be sad. If you didn't have enough time for the car, it will hopefully get more drive time with the new owner. These cars should be driven.

I used to spend less time in Atl and more in Nassau but that's inverted somewhat so . . .

There is also a lot more development and traffic in just the last 18 mos. so all things considered I think its the right move. I'll still have 2 P-cars, just with a heavy emphasis on one location instead of two.

And the pain of selling was mitigated somewhat by still having this car:
