Default 964-C2 Cab 1992

I placed an add for a 1992 964 -C2 Cab on March 18 and haven't received one response thus far? I know times are a little tough out there, but it strikes me as a little strange that I haven't even received any questions. I thought I had a pretty aggressive price at $19,500, but maybe I was wrong.

If anyone can shed any light on whether I am being too impatient or overpriced, please let me know.

Seriously, its a buyers market and not bothering to post links won't help. It might even send the wrong message. Try using the space to say good things about the car rather than a negative post bemoaning the lack of interest...amazing what subliminal messages can get sent.

The car looks beautiful! Good luck with the sale!

Price might be a tad high depending on mileage, options, etc. Do not know could not find the ad.

TBH I do not think Rennlist has the most buyer friendly classified layout. I would list the car other places to get better exposure.

Dammit, it's a tip...I see so many great 964 cabs w/tips for sale now.
Well, good luck anyway. It's a beautiful car.

So what is the disparity, tip vs manual given everything else equal? 2k, 5K,, 10K..., or is it just the wrong website to list it?

There is a 'wrong place’ to list it especially for free, however the more exposure the better IYSWIM. Nice looking car.

I generally use craigslist, cars.com, or autotrader.

This is a good place to start - but in this market, I'd put it everywhere else, the more exposure the better: Autotrader, cars.com, craigslist, Pelican, and roll it out to the corner and put a sign in it.

The automatic thing just hurts. It's just not what someone buys these cars for, because the interaction is most of the fun. Unless they're buying the car for a wife who doesn't drive a manual trans., these things just don't move that easily off the selling block. Add to that the fact that it's a cab, which is a minor detriment. Price disparity? Honestly, I've seen very nice examples (and yours is certainly a nice one) with similar miles go for $15-$16K lately - if they go at all.

Likely a TIP will be for an every day car like mine, 200k miles. One hour commute in rush hour morning and night.

And I bought it for the times when we would drive to LA and my wife could take over for a few hours.

+1 nice car. GL with the sale. If it was a manual at that price it would fly. Looks in nice condition.

I love the color.
I guess in hindsight, spending for the auto and cab is not the best money you could spend back then when buying a new Porsche. Has that changed with the newer models, at least the cab part I mean?

Nice looking car, its just a tough market for the 911's right now. Buyers are a lot more selective than we have seen before. In terms of your car, nice color and excellent interior, miles are decent. Again as mentioned before it is a tiptronic. I would estimate that 90% of the buyers out there are looking for a manual. If I were you keep driving it for a another month or so and then list again once the weather gets nice. You should have a few hits then. Best of luck.
