Yes, I should be working.

I should also have got someone to help apply it all and waited for a nice, calm day and done it outside - instead of like this...

But it's a pretty decent job for an amateur I think.

I did, didn't I?! I vaguely thought it might take me a few weeks.

Not sure about the result, but at least it's different.

If I say now that I'll keep it this way for a while and one day, perhaps change it back to the way it used to be, we'll all be expecting that to be done by late tomorrow evening.

John, the wheels look fab in the pics. Does the rim tape really go on that neatly? Any closeups?

EDIT: Just read that back and realized it sounds decidedly dodgy asking for closeups of your rim job...

I've got a set of 993 Carrera script that will be going on when the snow melts.

Carrera scripts were from Highgate House - and a thoroughly excellent, extraordinarily customer focussed service (hang on a minute - I'm not getting paid by the word here, am I ? ) it was too - they arrived the day after I ordered them and fitting was eased by a very helpful Rick, over the phone. Highly recommended, as they say on eBay.

Rim tape is a bit experimental - that's from eBay and is a bit too pink and a bit too narrow. Again, I was doing it in a cramped garage and iffy light, so I wouldn't say it's up for Rim Tape Of The Year, but it will help me to decide if I like the idea enough to get a properly painted rim done some time.

I still can't believe I did it all just a few hours after I had the idea. Total 911's editor thinks this is a project car that's going to take me months to finish!
