Default Paint code for Guards Red ?

Does anyone have the paint codes for a 1991 Guards Red 964 ?
I am away from my car right now and am getting some parts painted and need to get the paint codes to the body shop.

Thanks for any help
John.

The most common paint code for Guards Red, also called Indischrot, is L80K. I beleive there have been other paint codes for the same colour in the past and it's possible that there may be some differences between them.

As Dave says L80K, but when I had paint done on mine, i was informed that there have been many variations, probaly 8 or more on a theme......I was shown some more evidence, but it's a while ago now, I also know that Glasurit amongst others were not sole suppliers of paint, so you can see how it could vary.

Anyways if you're having paint done, get a spectrometer or similar readout and use that data, mine turned out after 12 years or so to a L72 Vauxhall red IIRC.

Here's a good reference in case you don't have access to a spectrometer: http://www.paintscratch.com/search.html

Churns out "80K/G1/M3A" for "Porsches All Models" for 1991 (you have to scroll down a bit).

Good luck!
