When mine stops leaking, I can assume no more oil in her.

No kidding- how do you post that you fixed something without saying what you fixed?

it was late and i was excited!!!!

as i suspected - camshaft seal...

I arrived to see the engine bay gleaming from a steam clean, and the car all shiny from a wash...

Wallet is lighter - but on his advice, i gave it death on the way home, got to Center Gravity - not a drop, not one tiny miniscule drop. I could eat my dinner of the formerly covered in oil back bumper.

Brilliant

got it home, parked it up, went back to Leics to collect van, got home and checked it, one drip on the floor, i doubt its a leak, its probably just collected oil still coming out from before, it was everywhere afterall! but if not, one tiny drip - in my eyes its all sorted. One drip i can live with.

He's done loads, rang me when it needed other bits and bobs to check to proceed- replaced all timing gaskets, chain cover gaskets etc, chain to crank gaskets, while he was in there i got him to check timing, (right hand bank was out) do valve clearances and fit the 12 new spark plugs i had. No wonder it felt waaay quick on the way home. Pulley end crank seal and intermediate shaft cover seal. The three o rings in the plastic bits that guide the spark wires were done too.

I'm so so happy with it, i just hope the drip is previous puddling or remains just a drip, it was the smallest leak there was out of all of them. the biggy was the cam seal, for some reason there was no gasket installed that side and the oring was squished. (he has rebuilt both sides...) He machined the rocker covers so they are flat and sealing properly too.

So now i need to get used to the new handling from the previous geo, in prep for Donny....

Pagid blues to go in, track wheels back on, and lets see if we can bring those laptimes down

Awesome.

Imagine: no more gooky engine distractions; all your gray matter can now focus on driving.

And, welcome to Dry Engine-ville. We're a peaceful community...

and here I was thinking Dry-Engine-ville was on some remote island with a population of something less than 5 people. Go figure.

As Demon has found out, DryEngineville's emigration requirements are steep -- but the lifestyle divedends are -- Mmmmm -- well worth the effort.

Leave to others the soiled suburbs of Shot-Gasket, NotSoOring, and HeadSeepton.
To be sure, living there means Lots of neighbors and endless commiseration...

Regardless, you're always welcome in DryEngineville! Our newest emissary: Demon.
(Who knows, maybe, someday, it could be You.)

Great price for the work you had done. Maybe the tiny leak left is only from a cam cover?...I was told that the only way to stop mine leaking would be to put on new covers because once they are warped, grinding the faces will only partially cure the problem.

covers a dry as a nuns, oh wait, public forum...

its definately crankline, engine is so clean i can see it exactly.

Old pooled oil, or still dribbling, we'll soon see, i can live with it now the HUGE leak has gone.

I am afraid that I need to replace those seals. I think I have replaced everything else and still have a nice puddle after a few days and oil on the rear bumper. However I don't have the $$$ to spend right now and don't want to tackle that by myself yet.
