By chance, I was in Germany - on my way home from somewhere in the Middle East not too long ago.
I had a few days so I rented a car. Turns out I was only 2 hours from the factory. I checked the website - and the following day was Opening Day at the new museum! Didn't even know there was a new museum.
So, of course I went. Impressions:
1. Of course it was very well done. But noteworthy was that not every car was museum quality... There were a few scuffs on a few.
2. Cars were very accessable. Easy to get up close - not quite like Goodwood, but close...
3. Wasn't quite as big as I'd imagined. Plenty to see though.
4. Many of the cars were the same one's at Rennsport Reunion's II & III
5. I took pics so I'll try to post a few...
6. The best part for me was driving on the Autobahn to and from. Took it pretty easy going up as I was unfamiliar with driving in Germany... At one point going home, I had the throttle flat on the floor for well over three minutes - kind of a weird sensation... My little MB A150 (?) topped out at 114mph - and I was getting passed!
Anytime you are in the left lane you have to constantly watch the rear view mirror - as much as out the front...
One minute there is nothing behind you - you take a drink, change the radio station - and Poof - there is an Audi on your bumper! They come up so fast on slower cars, I now understand the need for the big brakes...
Saw very few P-cars on the road in Germany - which surprised me.

Porsche don't want to restore their cars cosmetically, they want to show them with whatever 'scuff' the car might has got in a race or so. For instance, I can tell from the pictures that the 959 they entered Dakar with is exhibited this way. Nevertheless, Porsche do actually restore their cars, but only to a drivable state, that is the whole philosophy behind the 'Rolling Museum'.

Just booked flights for 14 of us for a factory and museum tour in April. Flights to Stuttgart seem quite limited from the UK, though luckily for us there are flights from Manchester. Would recommend a trip to the Mercedes museum as well, it's only up the road. Roll on April..
