BTW what PCGB championship thingy? The reason I ask is there were only two 964s in PCGB championship last year - Ian White (who won the class) and Marcus Carniel (won the Spa race). I know for a fact that Marcus uses RS15 as I helped him change them at the Oulton race last year

Just the factory ducts on the control arms, nothing more.

Matt,

I agree with Bill about the Pagid Yellow, which I changed to at the begining of last season as OEM's were no good after 15mins on Silverstone GP. They are brilliant, only occasional noiseat slow speed (no problem in a stripped car anyway) and as good or better than OEM from cold.

Not cheap, but is anything in that size, and if they'll do Le mans without changing the cost should be worth it with the number of trackdays you could get out of them. Cheapest I found for the was Alyn Stockton at ASPerformance aven comparing against $2 to £1 and importing them.

Moog

p.s. if your a novice I've still got stabilizers

A change of brake fluid to race fluid will help too, as the last couple of issues are caused by over heating the pads and boiling the brake fluid too.
+1 honestly if you are just starting out you will probably find yourself overbraking, it tends to be harder on the pads and rotors, but just starting out a good fluid and bleed is more important than the racing pads IMHO...if you do change the pads (ive used hawks, performance friction, or pagid i like the the citrus flavors) DO change out the fluid as well...

Hello - I've just come aboard as a Rennlist sponsor. Pagid pads / Porsche brakes are my business & have been for 6+ years.
I own and track a 514HP 2650 lb Porsche 930.

Your car, with Big Reds, for track use now and in the future as you improve (you will..try to or not ) .....
You might consider a dedicated track pad. You won't go back.

Pagid RS29 Yellows are what I have for your car. As Bill and others here say, they last a good long time.
I've the same brakes as you, and I *personally* get about 8+ track days from a set.

YMMV, but compare it to just a few days + PROBLEMS with the OEM style pads.

RS19's for me and honestly besides the squealing when the rotors and pads were new I can think of no downsides (besides cost - but they do last a lot longer than oem).

Yes that is exactly it - and for me from a business standpoint, they are virtually trouble free.
For me, they are the Gold Standard (hyperbole?) of pads for a Porsche. RS19 or RS29 (which are very close to each other in characterisitcs, btw)

well i'll see how the blues go, worst case scenario i use them as road pads, as the OEM are pretty worn now.

I've never had a problem with brake fade, overheating, loss of pedal or anything yet though... and thats on OEMs.
