Default Rauh Welt Built Engines---->

Hey guys, since I have just recently gotten into the air cooled porsches, I am unsure of the "name/title" of this setup, purpose, etc. I have seen it on all of their cars, and a handful of other 964's, and always wondered what you consider this conversion, what you expect to get from doing so, ballpark of the costs, etc?

So could someone please shed any light on the subject, Thanks.

(I am assuming its a conversion from fuel injection, to a carb'd setup?

Those are individual throttle bodies(ITB) and usually are used w/ Motec or other electronic engine management system(not Motronic). They are a very nice way to go for performance, since they are tuned to the individual engine the trick is to have someone that knows what they are doing do the install and tune. Unlike Motronic where chips are just swapped.

Two of the better tuners here in the states would be Steve Weiner and Geoffrey Ring.. Geoffrey in particular has has turned out some truely wonderfull 964 engines using that sort of intake w/ Motec.

I think that the last one Geoffrey did was a bit shy of 300, it did have some other mods and didn't even have the ITBs, it is very nice!! Very expensive too.

Bill,
You know that you've been an asset to me. But you also know that we have
access to tuners that can tune Motronics. Very well.
