well stupid me....

broke a bleed nipple, used an easyout and proper fannied the caliper. I wouldnt say it was unusable, but needs some attention...

Just had to buy a pair of fully refurbed 968 rear items from ebay. new seals, plates, screws, spring and powder coat - £370 all in, collect tomorrow.

Had to cancel a trackday for it, but hey, brand spanking new brakes all round now.

So if anyone wants a set of C2 rears, the 4 pot flavour, where one needs a rethread/repair for nipple, let me know.
