Default Advice - blowing exhaust

Hi guys, help and advice please, my exhaust is leaking, at the front connection of the cat by-pass pipe. Sounds like a tractor!! I can't work out how to remove it, thet appear to be 'pointed bolts', with smooth heads! are they corroded or is there a special method of removal that I'm missing? Coffee and marlboro have taken over for 10 mins, any advice is welcome, cheers. R

I've just replaced my cat with a bypass pipe, and had to grind through 2 of the nuts with a Dremmel due to severe corrosion. Needed a flexi extension to get in to the nuts (the 2 at the back), and used some grinding discs about 25mm in dia. Even once I'd cut through they had to be knocked out. One of the bolts had also started to corrode so badly that it was no longer 8mm in dia. Also had to cut through the bolt where the cat joins the primary silencer.
If you have a go, try to remove the tinware on the bottom of the cat as this will give you better access. Mine wouldn't come off unfortunately.

Try to ge them out and if the bolts don't snap in the process just cut them out. Get new bolts and a new gasket (metal gasket).

Sorted, went to National Tyres, removed, replaced with new gasket, £20. Fabulous value. Cheers. R
