Be interesting to see how many get through the MOT without requiring work before finally passing!

1. Did it pass? Were there advisories? If so what?

2. Did it fail?? What had to be done to pass?

My local MOT centre have no idea how test these cars, so only give it a quick glance over and a test drive for the brakes and then issue the ticket!!

In the five years I’ve had my car (bought with a new 12 month MOT) I have had the following experience:

Year 1 – Fail. Headlights showing incorrect beam. LHD headlights with RHD lenses just don’t cut it with the MOT testers these days!!
Year 2 – Pass
Year 3 – Pass - Advisories on front a/r bushes and one rear drop link. All changed at the subsequent service.
Year 4 – Pass
Year 5 – Pass – Advisory on rear a/r bushes. Changed at subsequent service.

Regards

Dave

Default mot

mine passed january
straight through no probs,
they couldnt check the brakes on the rolling road ( 4 wheel drive)
so the mechanic gave it a road test, he enjoyed it , and it passed.

No problem here for the past five years. Funnest thing the first year was them testing the secondary/wastegate tail pipe and getting no reading for the emissions.

Tempting fate here, but in the time I've had mine (5 years later this year) it's always passed first time.

Had the car six years.
1. Bought with MOT.
2. Pass.
3. Fail front wishbone bushes on one side.
4. Fail chip in windscreen.
5. Pass.
6. Pass.

Had to change one headlight (reflector gone) in the past five years - but always give it a once over before taking it for the test. Then again, since I've replaced or rebuilt just about everything it should pass..

The RS has had a straight pass each year for the past 3 years - it is fastidiously maintained though. The first year the tester had to adjust the headlamp beam because I'd just swapped lhd for rhd H4s - so not technically a fail - something we'd planned to do.
