Unhappy Midas for brakes?

Has anyone ever had Midas Mufflers install brakes on their 964? I need rear brakes installed in one day. I'm in a funny situation and I can't use a local porsche mechanic.

Thanks!

Do it yourself. The easiest thing next to putting gas in your car.

Takes about 15 minuted for a pad slap, about 90 minuted if you have to replace rotors. Very simple, and I wouldn't trust midas to work on my lawn mower, let alone the 911.

It will probably take closer to an hour if its your first time and you take it slowly and methodically. Taking the wheels on and off is probably the most time consuming part of the exercise, the pads drop straight in.

I used Metal Masters on my old car and they were approx. $25 an axle:

DO NOT under ANY circumstances take your 911 to Midas! If you happen to be near SF then shoot me a PM and I'll help you change them!

If you are in Indiana, I will also help you out. But I am guessing that you are in Florida.

You won't find Midas to have the pads anyway, you list your P-car as a 1990 C2, so you have the 2 pot rears, and those pads are not common stock (anywhere!)

I didn't look at his other posts. I was working off of the Cypress reference. Next time I will research a little more

My local shop, that works on all my other stuff, did my rears. Had to order the pads. They are 4 1/2". Does that sound right? They did the job for $86 total.

It sounds very, very reasonable!!! On my car with the 2-pot rears, I can't even find a set of rear pads that cheap!

Those are for 4-pot rears, the 2-pots are about 2 1/2" square(ish). The big ones can be bought for ~$35 a set, the 2-pots are about $80-85 a set.
