Thanks (I think) The bar was just finished a few months ago after the PO's let it go to hell. I spend a lot of time behind it.

As with any of this stuff whatever someone is willing to pay you. I have seen a number of replicas and most of them aren't quite right. Although it is nearly impossible to tell from pictures yours looks better than most if not the real thing. besides why would you want to sell it your car looks incredible with it. A nice finishing touch to a great looking 930.

BTW this same tail was used on the RUF RCT

I already replaced the tail with the correct 930 whale tail a few months ago. Even though it looked great, I opted for originality.

The Flachbau tail has been sitting in my garage for a couple months now, I am looking to sell it as it takes up a lot of space and i don't need it.

Well if it is real let me know I probably have a buyer or two for it.

Sounds great; I can't eat inside Rutt's anymore, it's just too filthy anyway.

Did you weigh the tail itself?

Not yet. Best guess is it weighs no more than 6 pounds without the lid, definitely less than the stock tail with rubber.

It is on my list of things to do. I just set it up to see what parts I will need to complete the job. There are a number of SS fasteners and things to hold the screen in place.

For reference, an RSA spoiler and deck lid together with mounting brackets all ready to attach to hinges (i.e. hinges not attached) weighs 36 pounds.

Weighing your spoiler both separately and ready to go on car with lid attached would be interesting.

I wish I could say. It looks like a very nice copy then. If you can find a 930 owner with black car maybe $800+ maybe 1000. if someone has to paint it $500 maybe 600 with all the screens etc. I have seen varying prices on copies new so it really depends on how nice the piece looks in person. Some copies are very exact others are not. Although in this economy your guess is as good as mine.

I am no where near that stage yet but for reference I weighed my C2 lid with power tail. No hardware and I came up with 28 pounds. The flachbau tail on a 930 lid with 90% of the inside shrouds, screens etc, and no hardware weighed 28 pounds too.

I would assume the tail is closer to 10+ pounds. Hard to tell because of size and shape when holding. When I disassemble it I will weigh the part separately. I plan on fitting the tail to the car before I have it painted, if this weather would just improve. I assume the factory turbo tail must be up there closer to the RSA weight maybe more.

For the record, my scale weighed the complete stock C2 tail off the hinges at 26.5 pounds so my scale is close to your scale's 28 pounds.

BTW, the 930 lid alone without tail and the RSA lid are the same part and use the same adaptor hardware to attach to the 964 chassis' hinges.

Actually yes and no, the parts are different as the 930 tail is the stock Carrera/RSA tail with additional material removed to make the larger opening for the intercooler. The 930 lid must weigh less because of the missing material.

I am assuming the rubber lip must weigh a lot.
