Default Seat subframes

Are they welded to the seat or does the seat unbolt.
Im looking at some buckets and have been told they will bolt with a bit of adaption to the existing subframes????

No way!
The factory subframes on a 964 will not split from the factory seats.
They will come off the seats but are unuseable when removed.
I was allso told this when buying my seats, complete trash.

You will need side brackets to secure the new seats in place. Sliders are optional.

Recaro and B-K make nice, solid ones.

Interesting - mine had spot welds and were not coming apart short of a plasma cutter or grinding wheel.

I was allso told off cobra that the subframes are removable, they allso told me that the seats will fit without any adaption. But the misanos they sold me needed a lot of adaption to fit!
I spent 2-3 weeks sorting the fitting of my cobra seats!
Allthou cobra where helpfull they made mistakes and didnt know wot was involved with the fitment of there own seats in my car.

Ive only got pics ov the seats before and in the car.
The old seats are buried in the garage.
The subframe on the standard seats is linked to the motors that make the seats move around.
Maybe a car without the electric seats will be different?
If your changing your seats you will need the correct subframes, and make sure you check the sizes. 911,s are a very narrow car and a lot of seats are too wide. Dont just trust the manafacturer!

I had the 4 way electric seats, and the runners came off, i put them back on when i realised i didnt need / want them.

I have recaro profi SPG XL with the alloy side mounts, and its a straight bolt on application if you dont use the runners which i didnt want to.

I had sparco evo's in the 3.2, and they catch in the middle.

If you find that you need new subframes contact Southbound trimmers:

http://www.southboundtrimmers.com/

They should be able to sort you out with what you need. Recaro sliders and mounts come out at about £250 to do both seats on mine. Subframes for other seats might come out less.
