Because all non-paying members can't be trusted and are evil scammers? Nice. I hope that's not your logic behind how you determine a good person and a bad one. Great way to split up the community and comraderie though.
I never believed in buying friends...not even internet ones.

Oh, and Marc, just to make sure I've got the guidelines right, if we are looking for a source of a part, ie. exhaust companies, front splitters, spoilers, ect. can we still post a question to the forum asking for sources of thes parts, or does that cross the line??? Thanks Marc

You are right - asking where to find a part is permitted.....but asking if someone has one to sell is not. Fine line? Yup.
Of course, if a Users replies saying they have one to sell (or a business who is not a sponsor replies saying "yeah, we have that") that is not permitted.
PM's are not monitored.

3. Was the "user" doing Meth, Heroin, or Crack? I understand man, once their hooked, there is no helping them until they "want" to be helped.

Let's see...We all own and drive Porsche's.
Some of us race, some like DE's, some charge around the country side and some like to cruise and none of us spends less than $40 filling up the tank.
Some of us apparently like to piddle with them and the cars and parts were never cheap. RL certainly provides a source for all kinds of parts at good prices.
So whining about a $17.95 member fee seems pretty silly to me.

Lynn, with the greatest respect, I think you miss the point. No one is taking issue with the price of membership. In fact I've never seen anything like rennlist where the members always urge newcomers to join and people are proud to do so!
The issue, as far as I can see, is borne mainly out of fear that the spirit of the site might change due to the rigidity with which the regulations are being enforced. Rennlist has always functioned really well using more of an honor system and I think in the past users have felt obligated to become members simply due to the sense of friendship and trust that rennlist (especially this board) promotes. Also, the way John ran the site really garnered your support.
When my son was two he wanted a pedal Porsche for his birthday. I bought it for him along with a paid Rennlist membership in his name. I put the stickers on his pedal car and I posted pictures on the board. Sounds daft, but I felt it was a small contribution to supporting a great site as well as a bit of fun.
People WILL do something because they've been told they have to....but they will do it grudgingly. So much better when they do it because they want to and are proud to do so. Rennlist is unique in this way and I doubt the new owners/administrators will understand this unless they are also users.
