Default New UK Rennlist user saying hello...

Hi, I'm Jamie from South West Scotland. Been lurking on the forums for a while and thought it was time to say hello!

Been a long time 911 fan and a few years ago started a long term career change plan which included 5 years at night school, a post graduate diploma over 1 year and then a 2 year traineeship. As an incentive I promised myself a 911 for finishing. Well, its been a long time but the end is in sight with summer 2009 been the finishing point. After years of window shopping and nosing on the forums, 2009 will be the year of my first 911 and I'm 99% sure it will be a 964 (although do also like the 3.2 Carrera).

It will be a daily driver and will be holding out for the right one. Hoping for a coupe in one of the darker colours (preferably grey or black) slightly upgraded with exhaust and suspension modifications. That said, will be basing solely on condition and can always add the toys afterwards.

Anyhow, just a quick hello and looking forward to spending some time on the forum.

Cheers, Jamie

Welcome Jamie! What a great reward for a remarkable achievement - sounds like you certainly deserve a Porsche. You really can't go wrong with a 964 - they are fantastic cars, well-built, solid and reliable.

Cheers,

Andy

Don't have much preference between C2 or C4, may have after a few test drives though!

Budget wise will be £15K which should be ok i think.

Cheers, Jamie

Welcome, If I ever get another street Porsche I think I will do the same. I love the 964. Classic lines and great car.

Jamie, I know of a black C4 that will be coming up for sale and should be in your budget, let me know if you're interested.

Welcome, I think that the 964 is a great car. I've had mine for 9 years now, and It just keeps putting a smile on my face. It's gone from a pure street car, to more of a weekend toy now.

I just love my 964. When my C4 was totaled I missed it daily. There was simply NO other car for me and I didn't consider anything else. I actually bought the first 964 that crossed my path...luckily it was simply perfect. The tip isn't as exciting to drive imo but it conjures all the same passion and I would not be without it.
