I went out to pick up my daughter from school yesterday in the dumping SoCal rain. I left a 951 in my wake/spray as they could not keep up with me going thru the 'S' turns that I just blazed thru. I could feel the PDAS doing its job though.
BTW, My new Sumi HTRZ III tires did very well in the wet.
Getting my Michelin snow's and 16" wheels put on the C4 Thursday for the winter ahead. Does anyone add additonal weight to the front for winter/snow driving? If so what do you add?
Tonight in Indy we received a nice dose of snow and freezing rain. Didn't leave work early per my plan, so by the time I went out to the parking lot, the car was covered in a nice protective layer of ice.
Win #1 - Nearly instantaneous heat after starting, to start melting ice while I started scraping. By the time I cleaned the windshield, the car was all warm inside.
Win #2 - After turning off the state hwy onto the paved secondary road toward my house, I noticed that the "black top" looked kinda funny - not wet, not dry. Hmmm.. I'll just squeeze the brakes to see what this stuff is - hmmm, didn't do much. So, kept cruising along. I see some tail lights ahead, as I get closer the lights are ahead on one of the hills, and not moving too fast. I come up behind, and it's a Ford Bronco thing spinning its wheels and cannot get up the hill. I was afraid that I had slowed down too much, but just eased over and cruised on past. with a grin.
Hubris: Posting about the superior capabilities of the C4, and that night putting the car into a ditch... (User error)
I had to walk home and come back with a floor jack and some timbers to get the car off a high-center/front wheels spinning in space.
When kicking the rear around, if it seems to be pointed in the wrong way, DON'T use the brakes... a little power and a flick would have saved me a lot of trouble (and a tear in my front under panel...ugh)

+2 I love the instant heat, as well.
I got caught out in a bit of snow a few weeks back that had started as rain which, of course, was frozen like concrete to the windshield. I started the car and the high speed defroster and turned to ask my buds in the car next to mine for a scraper. None could be found so I pulled out my trusty credit card. Amazingly, the snow and ice was already melting! I waited another couple of minutes and used the wipers instead!
i've been stuck at home with more snow than ground clearance
Same story here in Portland. There is at least 10" of snow on the ground, with more coming. Only a few roads are plowed here, the rest are starting to show impossibly high snow/ice crowns, and every manhole cover is a 12" high ring of ice... I barely made it around in the trusty van today. I am going insane stuck here at the house, and the wife's BMW got the garage spot, so I can't even work on the car as it is under all that snow.
Same thing here. I've exhausted every project in my pipeline during this snow storm. I put a cage and euro seats in my GT3, a cage in my buddies S2000, and thoroughly cleaned the garage. If this snow lasts much longer it's going to turn into The Shining at my house.
This is my first winter with the car and actually the first proper winter the C4 will see. It spent its entire life basking in the rains of Vancouver. Now she's in for a long cold Toronto winter. I've had over 12" of the white stuff, with loads of drifting.
I watched 10 idiots try to shift an Audi Q7 off my street the other night. I said to my wife, should I just drive by them in the 911? But I didn't. As someone already posted no one likes a show off.
I'm astonished at the amount of traction while accelerating and braking. But kicking the tailout and counter steering around roundabouts (traffic circles) is a blast In fact the last few times I came home from a "snow run" I was giggling like a school girl. I may change my last name to Solberg or McRae.
