Default NEW 964 guy.......many questions...

Hi, Here I am after 15 years with these cars...944, 944S2, 944T, 993, 996C4S....OK, I bought a car with lots of stuff... It rips pretty well so i am going to see if it has been chipped? I just got power back in NH so I would like to know where the DME is?
Thanks!
Steve

I'm guessing you meant, 'shut'.
The answer's here.

(If not, well.... things tend to rattle when you ventilate 'em, Harry.)

Rev it up and see where it redlines. Most aftermarket chips have bumped the rev line above 6800 RPM.

What do you mean by "lots of stuff" - suitcases of used clothes stuffed in the back- err, front, or?

Welcome fellow NH'er. Unfortunately, my house is still dark and cold. Brrr..... I'm staying at a friends house down in Mass until they can restore power.

The 89 C4 has a manual spoiler raise/lower switch mounted on the rear hood towards the left side. Its a small toggle switch. See pic

Hi, I found that one..I was wondering about a switch in the cabin? My 993 and 996 had one?
I discovered that the blower located on upper driver's side of the engine compartment had come loose from the hose that drops down..it was real pain in the neck to reconnect....

What does the blower do and mine runs intermittenly, it this normal

I promise pics today!

Supplies hot air to the cabin when you're cold in the winter. Some people remove the blower and report hot air still warming their butts, but I'm opening a can of worms here and I better shut up.

Your 993 had one. 996 probably had a heater core, like the rest of 'em water pumpers I don't remember seeing heat exchangers on those cars...

The 1991 and later cars have a switch below the dash near to the hazard light switch. There is no switch for the spoiler in the cabin on an '89 C4.
