Default Hood support lifts

Anyone ever tried the Strong Arm brand of gas charged hood lift support shocks? It's the brand the big box parts stores carry and they have a limited lifetime warranty.
Anybody know how they compare with the ones supplied by the porsche parts houses. I've not had very good luck with those.

I bought the cheaper ones(not the lifetime guarantee) ones from Performance. They don't work in cold weather. Anyone know of hood shocks that work?

I have to get the turbo tail setup- since the added weight is too much for 1 shock

I bought the lifetime ones from Performance (Weltmeister brand) and they are doing OK so far in the cold (as cold as it gets in Arkansas anyway). I know this doesn't qualify as COLD for most of you guys, but they're good down to 25 so far this year!

When I added the wing, all I did was to add one more shock to one side... works great so far... an idea from someone here.

Thanks Jaime. I think the Turbo replacement parts do that. I'd have to find a longer pin if I did that on my own. What did you use?

Turbo replacement... duh!! got to tell you, sometimes I just surprise myself with stuff like this... why the heck did I did not think of just ordering Turbo units.... I just do what I always do... given two options, the more difficult one is the one I take...

Anyway, that is a normal shock, one adittional pin with clip and a 1/4" x 2" bolt...
