I have read there is a need to replace the factory blower fan ballast resistor located in the air tube with an updated model with thermal protection because of a potential fire hazard due to overheating.

What does a new resistor pack look like as compared to the original?

I am not sure if mine has been updated..............

You'll need to actually take the resistor out and get the part # to be definitive.
I believe the latest part is manually resettable.
