I saw one of the new heater duct bypasses from FabSpeed today and they look GREAT!.....both from a visual perspective as well as a "give me some room to work on the F'ng engine" perspective. I will have one on the RSA soon.

I also saw some other items that Joe has done in CF, and they are all first class pieces.

Even though I haven't sold the 996 and haven't bought another 964, I ordered the bypass and it's on its way.

Hi Bob,

Was the bypass you saw actually mounted to a car, and if so, did it blow nice warm air? What year was the car?

Thanks,

Chris

Hey Bob it was a pleasure meeting you yesterday and thank you for the compliments on the carbon fiber. Those 997TT air intakes are going to be a hot item once we launch on the forums. If you ever need any work or have any questions regarding our products, please feel free to stop by our shop, we're only 25min. away from Princeton.

The group buy is still in effect and will be until next Friday, the 12th of Dec. We have already fulfilled orders and I have sent emails/private messages to those who were interested. Thank you for those who have participated and purchased the Carbon Fiber Heater Bypass, if you have any question/comments please email Joey@fabspeed.com or P.M.

A side question:
The bearings on my blower motor are shot; the motor makes a terrible noise so I pulled the fuse. Heat in the cabin is good, but I do not get any warm air to my feet on either side...Is this related to the non functioning blower motor?
If so someone mentioned a source for replacement motors....?
Alternatively, if someone goes the fabspeed route and no longer needs their blower motor I would be happy to pay for shipping
Thanks!

frankstubbs: I sent you a P.M. the other day confirming that we can ship 3 sets of the carbon fiber bypass pipe to England. I also included a total price in the P.M.

Would love to get one of these in my car to clean up the engine bay a little bit...

Would a late Feb 91 build 964 also have issues with heat in the cabin?

There's a mod you have to do to trick the climate control system, and you'll have heat in the cabin (do a search for "one wire method")

Some of our UK friends have commented that it isn't enough heat for a European winter, tho

I bought a carbon fibre bypass tube, looked very nice but didn't fit very well, so I send it back.
Then I bought the Factory RS part, it is cheaper and fits perfect and matches the other plastic part in the engine compartment. No problem with heat, don't even notice the difference, mind you I only drive my car 7 month of the year here in Canada so no exposure to cold weather.
As mentioned earlier, you have to run a fused wire from the + side of one coil to spade #87 where the relay used to sit.

I fitted one of these just recently. No need for any wiring mods for me. Fans just work same as before. No less power from the fans as I can tell. My car is a late 1991.
