Seal for Oil Pressure Base
I took the intake off my 90 C4 to clean. I overfilled the oil right after I got it since I did not know the correct way to check the oil.
The intake is clean and I decided to change the o-ring on the base of the oil pressure sender. I put the new o-ring on the base and reinstalled it. However the base did not feel very snug. Anyone that has done this, did you notice if the base fit snug back on top of the engine? It seemed as if the o-ring was not thick enough. I checked the part number a couple of times.
Thanks.

The one Garrett showed in his DIY (and mine) was signal green in color.
I'd put the thickness at, oh, 1/8".
And I cleaned, then oiled up all surfaces before reinstalling. Worried about o-ring shaving on the casings sharp perimeter edge. Past that, it gave a nice little "-- thwap" upon reinstallation. Along the lines as Garrett described.
Rattly, or wobbly, things Weren't after that.

Mine felt very snug when I pushed it in. Part no. for the green one is 999.707.314.40. Here's the new and old one:
