Default Rebuilt Alternator Question

Does a rebuilt alternator come with the fan bearing/hub or do you have to take the old one off and reuse it? It is not clear in the DIY posts that I reviewed. They all talk about removing the fan and housing, but do not mention the bearing/hub.

It depends on who rebuilt it. There are shops that make it like new, and others that just get it working again and you are stuck with a high-mileage part. I purchased a rebuilt alternator in a Bosch box only to learn the rebuild shop was in Sleepy Hollow and they got the box from the less-than-ethical shop that installed the real item. Caveat emptor on "rebuilt" parts.

I replaced my alternator last winter with a rebuilt unit from Porsche. It did not include the fan bearing. I purchased that separately and then realized that my original was in perfect shape.
If you need one, I am selling my original for $75 or best offer. It's listed on here and on the 993 forum.
