Default 911 3.2 Speedster vs 964 3.6 Speedster Top Operation

Hi all,

does anyone have information on how the soft top opens and shuts on the Speedsters? Is it the same for both models?

Does anyone have a copy or scan of the owners manual supplement that I could have a look at or is there a link on the net?

Does anyone have such a vehicle and what is it really like in the rain?
Apperently you had to sign a waiver stating that you agree to have basic protection from the elements only with the Speedster top?

Does anyone have a scan of that ducument?

Thanks and best regards

Martin

I own a 94 speedster, and will read through the documentation. It is NOT a very good car in the rain as the top if more 'cosmetic; than functional.... I have small gaps between the windows and top, and it came that way from the factory. I do beleive that the new owner had to sign any waivers, but I do believe there is verbiage in the documentation that states the top is only for 'basic protection'...

The Speedster is a great weekend car, but would not make a good DD in a rainy climate.

Default Speedster hood mechanism

Hi Blake,

nice little collection you have there.
If it isn't too much trouble, could you be so kind to send me a few pictures of the mechanisim and the different stages of the roof operation, please?

So far this is the only picture I could find online:

Do you have pictures of your car on photobucket or somewhere similar?

Thanks and best regards

Martin
