Can't say much about the regular mat as I have the track mats installed in my car - see above pic - they were very easy to install - pulled out all carpet on floor and pad - cut back side carpet to a minimum - about 1 inch below mat surface. Unscrewed the snap fitting for the carpet mat then drilled two holes and installed the track mat - works great, looks better, also increased my HP by 441 over last dyno - (see "Can't believe this" thread.
