If it was a C4 it might have seen some snow, but a C2 would (usually) be parked during salt season around here.

Without service records, you could ask the dealer for a CarFax report. Then, using the names of owners that might or might not pop up on same, use the Internet to find the previous owners, and quiz them. Or find the various shops/dealers who had done repair/maintenance work on the car. I did that and it paid off (discovered, for example, that the previous owner had replaced the clutch, etc., just prior to trading in the car and that the original owner had barely driven the car for the first several years of ownership). Worth a try.
