Default Need CDR-220 Help

I just received a CDR-220 from Becker and I had already purchased the adapter harness from SW Stereo.

I need help understanding the following; the PO replaced the original Porsche CR1 HU with a Kenwood. In order to mount the Kenwood HU the original mounting sleeve was replaced with one for the Kenwood. I have both the original sleeve and CR1. In order to mount the CDR-220 do I need to use a sleeve? If yes, what sleeve? The original sleeve seems to small to fit the CDR-220 and the locking tabs are also different than the CR1.

You dont need a sleeve. I also remember bending some tabs on the cdr-220 to get it flush with the dash.

Yes, I think I see the tabs you are talking about. They are almost directly (about a 1/4 inch) behind the faceplate on both sides.

I assume with no sleeve the unit still clicks into place with the locking tabs on either side so it won't slide out unless you utilize a removal tool.

thanks

The CDR-220 is slightly larger than the old radio and the fit is very tight. It will not slide out without force. It took me some time to fit it flush with the dash. Get the Aux input wire before the instal as you would not want to remove it once it's in.
