Default H&R Coilovers shock replacement

I noticed the thread on H&Rs as replacements; but, what about when the shocks wear out. What is the best thing to replace them with? I can't tell much about the coil over set-up except that the springs are 0.5 inch diameter, about 7 turns from collar to top, and painted black while the shock itself appears to be annodized gold. Incidentally, details are for rear shocks -- I have not checked the front yet.

We have JRZ double adjustable race shock on the track car and have tested most Billsteins before going to the JRZs. The H&Rs do not provide a good ride, nothing seems to be wrong with the spring. The shocks just don't control damp the spring.

FWIW - My wife requested this as birthday present. She tracks the other 911 and would like to track this one someday.
