Default Rear spoiler help...

My rear spoiler on my 92 C2 has developed a problem. The spoiler lamp stays on all the time. The spoiler does not raise at 50 mph. The spoiler operates ok with the manual switch. I just had my odometer repaired. Everything worked before, but now it doesn't. I'm guessing that the speed control for the spoiler goes thru the speedo somehow. Anybody have any idea how that all works?

Thanks,

J. Tucker

maybe the control unit under the dash isnt connected or a bad dirty connection on it.

PM me if you decide it is the controller. I have a working spare, and am 4 for 4 getting bad spoiler controllers fixed.

Default spoiler...

I had the odometer fixed last week. The spoiler worked fine prior to that, and quit working after I put the speedo back in, so I'm thinking that has to be it. I looked in t Strather's book and he indicates that the speed control for the spoiler goes thru the speedo, plus that is the last thing that was worked on so I am suspicious. I will take it back to the speedoshop tomorrow and see what they say.

Default Just to close this out...

The speedo shop says they checked the output before and after the odometer work. They replaced an IC in the speedo and the spoiler is working properly now. No hassles and no charge for the rework, so I tipped the guy $20.

So if you are having the spoiler light stay on, no automatic cativation of spoiler and manual switch works fine, this is likely the problem.
