Have to buy an allen wrench to facilitate removing the 22mm retaining nut on the strut shaft. Anyone know what size allen?

I'd like to say 7mm, but I'm not 100% certain. How do you plan on removing the 22mm nut? If you use an impact wrench, you won't need an allen key. Otherwise you can cut a hole in the side of a 22mm deep socket and poke the allen key in there. It's tedious and slow that way but I've made it work.

No impact wrench. I think I can get enough bite with the offset of my 22mm box wrench. We'll see. If not, I'll most likely take them to a shop. Not my first choice, but best of the - Buy an impact and hope, buy and cut a 22mm deep well and cut it, drill / break nut...
Thx for the reply.

I believe it's 7mm too. I bent 2 Craftsman allen wrenches on my recent shock job.
That 22mm nut can be a bitch. Grinding away the side of a 22mm deep socket was way I did it.
On one I had to take a die grinder and thin the walls of the nut to loosen it.
